Deep South Burger is located at 9090 Skillman
Looks like another restaurateur is taking a chance on the space at 9090 Skillman near LBJ.
A sign just went up for Deep South Burger Bar. The space, next door to Dallas Media Center, has housed a couple of different unsuccessful restaurants in the past few years.
John Harris opened the Burger Spot there in 2010 and it stayed in business for about a year, which was sad because the food was good, it was aesthetically tasteful, it featured local art and people liked it.
Then in 2011 Oak Cliff native Sean Mathis opened Cowboy-Style Philly — which despite good experience and good intentions — he never really got off the ground before quietly going out of business less than a year later.
The owner of Deep South Burger is Bob Keith Jr., according to permits filed with the city. We will report back as we gain more information.
