Several of the SUV passengers, including several minors, reportedly were injured and transported to hospitals. The incident report does not note whether passengers were wearing seat belts, but does note that juveniles were ejected from the car during the accident. Officials report one critical injury of a 13 year old, but, as of now, no fatalities are reported.

The police report is sparse, but indicates that 26-year-old Edward Rodriguez, the driver of a blue Chevy that struck the SUV, was intoxicated and has been charged with intoxication assault. Witnesses reportedly told police that the suspect tried to flee the scene but stopped when several witnesses followed and surrounded him. Police reportedly will use red-light camera footage to make their case.

And maybe those red light cameras will prove good for something.
