Kirk and his team have been performing live parodies of motion pictures in Austin and Savannah, adding their own brand of silliness to classics such as Home Alone, Die Hard, Back to the Future and James Cameron’s Aliens, which they performed on ice. (Think Disney On Ice, but with abdomen-invading, flesh-eating space creatures.)

This year’s show is more ambitious, Kirk says, with a 13-city U.S. tour including Atlanta, Chicago, Boston and San Francisco. They’ll kick off performances in Austin June 10th and play in Dallas on July 1st.

Producing a live show with multiple people and cities involved won’t be cheap, so Kirk is hoping his LH friends will help by pre-ordering tickets on Kickstarter, a crowd-sourced funding site. If you donate $25 to their project you’ll receive a ticket to the show, if you give $40 they throw in a t-shirt, etc. Once you make your donation online, you answer a survey online to specify in what city you want to see the show.

At The Kessler in Oak Cliff a year ago, it was standing room only for the premier of Kirk’s movie, Austin High. About half the crowd were Kirk’s buddies from LHHS and about half were the friends of his parents, Debbie and Jim. Kirk is hoping to have an equally supportive cheering section July1st for Jurassic Farce. You can get more info and make a donation here. (In the video above, Kirk is the one who comes out sporting a coral-colored shirt, blonde wig and skinny legs.) Note: Kirk warns that Jurassic Farce would likely earn an R if rated.
