Adapt to the North Texas drought and learn gardening techniques that integrate hardy plants native to North Texas at the Water-Wise Landscape Tour, held at the White Rock Pump Station from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday, June 7.

Now in its 20th year, the free, self-guided garden tour will once again showcase the most attractive Water-Wise landscapes around the neighborhood.

The tour also sets out to encourage neighbors to reduce the use of the city’s drinking water on lawns and landscaping during the summer months.

“More than 50 percent of the city’s drinking water can be used on landscaping during that time,” says Dallas Water Utilities Conservation Division Manager Carole Davis.

Tour maps can be downloaded here or picked up at the White Rock Pump Station on 2900 White Rock Road, where Dallas County Master Gardeners will present “MicroTalks” and demonstrations about water-wise techniques to use on their own landscapes throughout the day.
