Plated Stories: Legacies from Home to Table, a new cookbook authored by refugees, trafficking survivors and asylum seekers, will launch this Thursday at Addison Treehouse.

Lake Highlands-based Refugee Services of Texas office will team up with the Fort Worth branch of the organization and World Affairs Council DFW for the event.

Ashley Faye, senior director of development for Refugee Services of Texas, will take guests through different world perspectives throughout the book. She will also give a preview of each contributor’s journey through America and their food story.

The book is a collection of 25 stories and 50 recipes. Jane Gow, a former refugee and founder of Be Kinder Coffee Project, will provide a Vietnamese coffee demonstration.

Tickets for the event are free, but donations are encouraged on the event site. The book launch will be from 6 p.m.- 7:30 p.m. More details can be found at dfwworld.org.
