Richardson ISD will continue enforcing its existing universal mask requirement for students and staff during in-person school activities.
This comes after Gov. Greg Abbott announced the lifting of Texas’ mask mandate effective March 10. Yesterday, RISD announced it would seek guidance from health authorities and the Texas Education Agency.
In a message to parents today, RISD stated the TEA released updated guidance for school districts related to health and safety protocols. Based on this guidance, the district will not change its current mask requirements for the fourth quarter of the school year.
