Seniors at 31 Dallas ISD high schools have until March 31 to take the Dallas County Promise Pledge to be eligible to receive the scholarship.

Dallas County Promise (DCP) offers a “last-dollar” tuition scholarship to cover tuition costs at participating Dallas College and DCP partner universities still left after students have spent their need-based financial aid and scholarships.

The organization is helping more students go to college to address the workforce talent gap in Dallas, particularly by encouraging more people to receive a degree and learn the skills they need to succeed in their career.

Students have to take the pledge, submit an application to a participating institution and be admitted, and turn in a FAFSA or TASFA form listing the school by the March 31 deadline.

Participating institutions include: Dallas College, UNT Dallas, SMU, Midwestern State University, Prairie View A&M University, Paul Quinn College, Austin College, Texas A&M University — Texarkana, Texas A&M University — Commerce, Texas Woman’s University, and the University of Texas at Arlington.
