Crime in Dallas began to drop off as the first week of March rolled in.

On March 1, the city racked in 1,081 property crimes, 976 crimes categorized as “other” and 270 violent crimes. But by March 8, property crimes decreased by 37%, “other” crimes by nearly 39% and violent crimes by nearly 42%.

The most common crimes in Lake Highlands in recent days have been property-related and categorized as other.

In the last 100 days, crimes in Dallas have occurred most commonly on Mondays at 5 p.m., Thursdays at 6 p.m., Fridays between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m., Saturdays at 12 a.m. and Sundays at 12 a.m.

According to Texas Department of Criminal Justice data, 33% of Dallas’ incarcerated individuals are white, 33% are Black, 33% are Hispanic and 1% are categorized as “other.” See how this compares to the city’s population:

2019 data shows Dallas had 2.26 police officers per 1,000 residents. There were 3,075 total police officers for a population of over 1.3 million.
