The grants come from the foundation’s Resilience Fund, which aims to support agencies facing burst pipes; fallen ceilings; those who were forced to evacuate people or close down; those providing utility assistance; and those providing health care services, according to a press release.

Four agencies were among the first group of grantees, including East Dallas-based nonprofit Our Friends Place, which helps young women break generational cycles of abuse, neglect, poverty and homelessness. The three other agencies include Irving Cares, Nexus Recovery Center and SafeHaven of Tarrant County.

The foundation is continuing to raise money for its Resilience Fund and plans to distribute more grants in the coming weeks and months. Grantee partners have expressed over $1.5 million in needs, per the release.
