Events

Noon Year’s Eve at the Arboretum

If you’re wanting the kids to enjoy NYE without staying up late, the Arboretum is hosting Noon Year’s Eve at the Children’s Adventure Garden from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Dec. 31. Hands-on crafts and experiments will be available throughout the garden. The entry plaza will feature butterfly gates to experience the excitement of a countdown and ball drop. To accommodate social distancing, the ball drops will occur at 11 a.m., 12 p.m and 1 p.m.

Lone Star NYE 2021

Tune in to NBC 5 New Year’s Eve and check out Lake Highlands High grad Ryan Berg on “Lone Star NYE 2021” Berg, who charmed TV audiences on “The Voice” this season, will perform, as will the Eli Young Band. Fireworks at Reunion Tower will ring in the new year. To catch Berg’s performance on “Lone Star NYE 2021,” tune in to NBC 5 from 11:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. or watch the livestream at NBCDFW.com.

Central Lutheran Church Prayer Service

If you’re looking for a more lowkey and reflective NYE, join Central Lutheran Church on Facebook at 7 p.m. on Dec. 31 for a prayer service. The Old Lake Highlands church will offer opportunities to reflect on the regrets, anxieties, fears, sorrows and joys of 2020.

Reunion Tower Over The Top NYE 2020

The annual Reunion Tower NYE celebration is looking a little different this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. There will be no viewing of fireworks from the Reunion Tower property, but interested participants can watch live on TV on NBC5-KXAS, over the air on JACK FM 100.3, via social media on the Reunion Tower Facebook or on YouTube for a high quality livestream at 11:59 p.m.

Dining

Lake House Bar & Grill

The restaurant along Northwest Highway is offering a three-course meal for $65 per person or $120 per couple available for takeout or dine in. The kitchen will be open from 4-10 p.m. and drink specials will be available from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. Lake House will offer a complimentary toast at midnight.

End Zone

Neighborhood sports bar End Zone is celebrating NYE with a free champagne toast at midnight, $.50 cent wings and shrimp all day and discounted drinks. The kitchen will be open until 1:45 a.m. and customers can dine in or order to go.
