The Dallas Park and Recreation Department will return to Phase I operations during the holiday season to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

Recreation centers will close Monday through Jan. 3, 2021. Doors will reopen Jan. 4.

“The Dallas Park and Recreation Department is committed to helping the city, our communities and our families get through the COVID pandemic,” District 9 Councilwoman Paula Blackmon said in a Facebook post. “Due to the rising COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations and deaths across the United States, our concern is the safety of our patrons in our recreations centers and that of our park team members.”
