Audrey’s Peanut Brittle comes in 6 or 12 ounce bags

Budding entrepreneur Audrey Fitzgerald is staying busy this holiday season. Besides nurturing her homemade peanut brittle business, the 11-year-old is working to stay on top of her 5th grade schoolwork at Lake Highlands Elementary.

Audrey launched her peanut brittle business last year, and this season she’s swamped with repeat customers and new inquiries recommended by word-of-mouth. She sells small batches wrapped beautifully to be given as gifts to teachers, hostesses and business associates – if you can keep from gobbling up the sweet goodies before you make it home from the porch pick up.

Audrey’s assistant is her mother, Jennifer. Their recipe is borrowed from Audrey’s grandpa, Gene Hildman, who’s been making batches for friends for the past 40 years.

“People have been telling my dad for years that he should start a peanut brittle business when he retires,” says Jennifer. “He retired 13 years ago and just enjoys making it as gifts, but I think he is really proud to see his granddaughter continuing in his footsteps.”

If you’d like to place an order for Audrey’s Peanut Brittle, email Jennifer at jfitz95@sbcglobal.net. One 6 ounce bag is $3 and one 12 ounce bag is $5, and you can pay by Venmo, Paypal or cash. Simply heaven.
