Start the month off fresh by getting rid of your unnecessary documents, hard drives and recyclable items.
Lake Highlands High School Mock Trial is hosting a recycle and shred event Dec. 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the school on 9449 Church Road at White Rock Trail. Volunteers will be masked and gloved.
For document shredding on site, the first box costs $10 and each box after costs $5. Paper clips, rubber bands and staples are allowed, but binders and binder clips are not. The size suggestion is a banker’s box or tall kitchen bag.
Hard drives removed from computers beforehand can be shredded for $20 per hard drive.
Recycle accepted household items for free. Items can be in any condition, even damaged or non-working. This includes electronics, video games, multimedia items, clothing, jewelry, accessories, sporting goods and much more. A list of accepted items can be found on the Bubb Fundraising’s website.
Proceeds from the event support the Mock Trial team, a group of teenagers that placed 7th at the Mock Trial State competition last year.
