After the coronavirus pandemic caused the event to be postponed twice, the LHHS Class of 1970 Anniversary Gala will now take place at Westin Park Central at 12720 Merit Drive on April 24, 2021, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Reunion committee member Robert Grinsfelder said the goal has been to have a restriction-free event.

“We have people who want to dance and get on the dance floor, and that’s probably not in the guidelines,” Grinsfelder said.

He said the committee is working to ensure the class— especially vulnerable classmates— feels comfortable attending the event in person.

“We are all in agreement for taking all the precautions we need to protect
our age group,” Grinsfelder said.

The anniversary gala will include hosted drinks, food stations, a DJ highlighting songs from the ’60s and ’70s, special videos and memorabilia and a free sketch artist and photo area.

The committee asks for attendees to purchase tickets in advance. Tickets will be $85 until March 15 and will then be $95 until April 24. Members from other LHHS classes may attend the event as well.
