A motorcyclist was critically injured Saturday while assisting in a funeral procession near White Rock Lake, NBC affiliate Channel 5 reported.
The motorcyclist collided with a Chevrolet Impala as the procession traveled in the 9300 block of Garland Road.
A member of the procession signaled to the 25-year-old Impala driver that she could pass. The motorcycle hit the Impala as it drove ahead, and the motorcycle driver was thrown into a telephone pole and tree, according to the news station.
The 42-year-old motorcyclist was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
The man was part of a motorcade for Jose Montes, a 28-year-old security officer who was killed last week during a robbery in Oak Cliff.
