As if we didn’t already think Caren Bright was adorable, as a part of Pamper Lake Highland‘s preschool program, she’s reading books for the kids.

“While our programs are on hold to reduce the spread of COVID-19, the needs of our families cannot be put on hold; they have lost access to the diapers, meals, and support they depend on. Virtual Programming Description To help our families cope, we are continuing our programming via virtual platforms. The families continue to receive essential needs, classes for parents and children, counseling, English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction, and tutoring, all while maintaining physical distancing to promote staying healthy during the COVID-19 crisis,” says the Pamper Lake Highland’s North Texas Giving Day website. 

Each mom is assigned a weekly pick-up time slot, and essentials are placed in her trunk. A masked and gloved PLH team member places her items in her trunk. Items distributed:

•Diapers and wipes

•Healthy, non-perishable foods

•Fresh food

•Curriculum packets provided weekly for preschoolers lesson plans and guides in English and Spanish

•Preschool supply packs (crayons, Play-Doh, safety scissors, construction paper, activity sheets, etc.)

•School supply packs for school-aged children (spiral binders, pens, pencils, etc.)
