Richardson ISD has announced the following:

•When spring break concludes, starting Monday, March 23, all RISD schools will be closed indefinitely.
•While schools are closed, all school and district meetings, events and activities will also be cancelled or postponed.
•Beginning Wednesday March 25, RISD students will be able to continue lessons at home through the use of their school-issued devices in grades 3-8 and/or through age appropriate lessons available through the RISD website for all students K-12.
•RISD is working on a plan to provide meal service during closure to students with food insecurities. More information to come later this week as details are confirmed.
•The state of Texas has announced that no students will take the STAAR test this school year. I applaud this decision as a necessary step to remove state testing as a factor for school districts when making decisions about the health and well-being of our school communities.
•The health department continues to verify that no RISD students or staff members are among the currently-confirmed COVID-19 cases in Dallas County.

“As spring break continues, our leadership team is continuing to meet regularly and remains in ongoing contact with state officials and local health authorities. Please continue to monitor RISD’s COVID-19 page for the most up to date information about how the global pandemic is affecting RISD.
Thank you for your feedback and partnership as we work to keep our students, employees and community safe,” wrote Superintendent Jeannie Stone.
