All events and classes are canceled until further notice, spokeswoman Allison Carp said. The cancellation includes a call for entries to the Spirit is Ageless art contest and the gift shop and bistro ribbon cutting at The Vista.

A staff member at CC Young also told the Advocate that family members can visit in individual rooms, but guests will not be allowed to have lunch in the dining rooms.

Dallas County Health and Human Services has confirmed three “presumptive positive” cases of the coronavirus as of Wednesday.

For most people, the virus causes only mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough. Older adults and people with existing health problems are most susceptible to more severe illness.

The vast majority of people recover in about two weeks with mild symptoms and up to six weeks if it’s more severe.
