On Monday night, Feb. 11 around 11:30 p.m., neighbors called police after hearing an argument followed by a gunshot in an apartment unit. Police were sent to 11911 Greenville Ave., the District at Greenville Apartments.
When officers arrived, they detained 18-year-old Tyson Wilson. His roommate, Jeffrey Martinez-Suarez, was found inside of the apartment unit with gunshot wounds. Martinez-Suarez was transported to a hospital where he was later pronounced deceased, according to DPD.
Wilson was interviewed at Dallas Police Headquarters and admitted to shooting his roommate after an argument between the two and their other roommate escalated. Wilson claimed that he was acting in self-defense after Martin-Suarez and their other roommate attacked him.
Wilson was charged with murder, a first-degree felony.
