Before iPhones, Netflix and vegan restaurants, neighbors were upset about an overpass being built at Forest Lane and Dallas Tollway in 1967.
“The cries of the people has apparently been heard, a lot of shouting by a lot of people,” reported Anchor Sam Curry. “Highway constructors are planning to make changes in North Dallas roadways just because the people wanted it that way.”
At the intersection, neighbors were upset about a projected overpass when they actually wanted an underpass. They argued that an overpass would be “ugly.” After taking it to court, the neighbors won.
