Dallas Police are seeking help from the public after a man was shot dead about midnight Thursday near Thurgood Marshall Elementary. The shooter fled and remains at large.
The shooting was reported at 12:09 a.m. in the 9700 block of Ferris Branch Boulevard, where Kendrick Ruben, 26, was walking with a friend, the Dallas Morning News reports. Witnesses said the shooter approached and got into an argument with Ruben, then shot Ruben several times in the chest. Officers found Ruben lying in the parking lot of the Hidden Ridge Apartments nearby.
