May 24: Movies at the Park: Christopher Robin

Enjoy a free screening of the heartwarming, live-action “Christopher Robin” which follows the young boy who has now grown up and fallen out of touch with his animal friends. Bring a blanket and some chairs to claim your spot for the 8 p.m. screening at The Shops at Park Lane, at 8080 Park Lane.

May 25: The Island of the Skog

If you haven’t seen this kid-friendly musical adventure, May 25 will be your last chance. The musical follows mice and Skog as they navigate land and sea, encountering ravenous cats, noisy humans and peril on the street along the way.

Tickets can be purchased online and start at $30 for the last show beginning at 1:30 p.m. at the Dallas Children’s Theater/Rosewood Center for Family Arts, at 5938 Skillman St.

May 25-26: Thai Culture & Food Festival

Experience the vibrant food and culture of Thailand at this two-day festival hosted by the Thai Community Center of North Texas. Scheduled events include classical musical ensembles, parades, martial arts and dance demonstrations and more.

The free event runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 25 and from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 26 at The Buddhist Center of Dallas, at 8484 Stults Road.

May 27: Play for the Day

Enjoy a free outdoor festival full of family games, live music, an art show and a 5K race benefiting charity by attending Camp Sweeney’s annual Play for the Day event. Proceeds will go toward funding the camp, which which helps children with juvenile diabetes learn to test blood sugars, make healthy diet choices and administer shots of insulin.

The Kid Zone opens at 9 a.m. at the Lake Highlands Town Center and the 5K kicks off at 9:30 a.m.

May 27: Dallas Symphony Orchestra Parks Concerts

Enjoy free music from the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, fireworks and family fun at the DSO’s parks concerts kick off event May 27. The orchestra will play a selection of light classics, patriotic tunes and other popular fare.

The concert and firework show starts at 8:15 p.m. at Flag Pole Hill Park, 8015 Doran Circle.
