See your former neighbor in these upcoming films

St. Vincent and The Butthole Surfers’ Gibby Haynes grew up in Lake Highlands. “The Bachelor” franchise’s host Chris Harrison and reality TV producer-turned-documentary maker Damon Epps did, too.

And that’s just a short list of Lake Highlanders who achieved celebrity status by gracing a stage — or screen.

Lake Highlands graduate Scoot McNairy is making headlines for his work in “True Detective” and “Narcos.” You’ll see him on the big screen in Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie. McNairy also landed a role in the thriller “The Line,” which reportedly is being filmed this fall.

Check out an interview with McNairy about “True Detective” here.
