Paddles and Politics Mayoral Forum: And the winner is…

Paddles and Politics at Oak Highlands Brewery

Candidates and attendees at the Paddles and Politics Mayoral Forum April 3 at Oak Highlands Brewery said they enjoyed the laidback format.

“The candidates have come to an unprecedented agreement,” wrote Mike Ablon on Facebook, “that all forums should be in breweries from now on.”

After the extended questions and the green-paddle-for-yes, red-paddle-for-no lightning round, audience members were asked to vote in an informal poll indicating who their front runner would be. Here are the results.

Mike Ablon 39%

Albert Black 23%

Miguel Solis 14%

Lynn McBee 10%

Scott Griggs 6%

Jason Villalba 5%

Regina Montoya 4% (attended the second half)

Eric Johnson 0% (did not attend)

Alyson Kennedy 0% (did not attend)

Of course, the only real way to influence who’ll be our next mayor is to show up at the polls. Early voting begins April 22, and Election Day is May 4. Thank you to forum hosts 100 Women of Lake Highlands, Exchange Club of Lake Highlands, Hamilton Park Next Generation Leaders and Councilmember McGough’s All In D10, and special thanks to co-moderator Asheya Warren.
