Kelly, Jaxon and Hudson Baker

You have two chances in the coming days to catch a ball game and send some love to little Hudson Baker and his mom, Kelly, coach of the Wildcat softball team. Hudson is the toddler recently diagnosed with organ failure after he was taken to the hospital for what seemed to be a stomach virus. He was whisked by ambulance to Children’s Dallas and suffered cardiac arrest, and Kelly recently learned he needs a heart transplant.

Wildcat Baseball will host Elementary Night at Lake Highlands High’s baseball fields tonight/Friday. The JV throws out the first pitch at 5 p.m. and the varsity plays at 7:30. All little sluggers are welcome to run the bases between games, and admission is free. Parent volunteers will be grilling dollar hot dogs during the games, and proceeds from concessions go to the Baker family.

Thursday night, April 11th, the Wildcat softball team will host a “Homers for Hudson Hit-A-Thon,” selling a chance to hit homeruns off a toss for $1 per pitch. You can purchase Team Hudi tees and enjoy a barbecue dinner, with proceeds going to the Baker family. Admission is free, and the fun runs from 7-9.

You may contribute to the Baker family medical and living expenses via their GoFundMe page here.
