Neighborhood news: Sauce Pizza and Wine opens, Atomic Pie searches for a new home

As one pizza joint opens, another neighborhood staple is scrambling to find a new home.

Sauce Pizza and Wine is open at The Hill Shopping Center at North Central Expressway and Walnut Hill Lane. The trendy pizzeria also serves salads, pasta, local wine and beer. The chain, which restaurateur Sam Fox launched in 2003, also has locations in New Mexico and Arizona.

Atomic Pie

Atomic Pie is closing in Lakeridge Village at the end of the month and is searching for another Lake Highlands location. The eatery, which recently downsized, couldn’t afford the increased rent or negotiate a deal with SHOP Development, who is overseeing Lakeridge Village’s overhaul, owner Tom Goodale says. He added that Atomic Pie is considering a few options but has no concrete plans. The Advocate will update this story as we learn more.
