#TBT: Don’t forget about your dad’s rock band

Even though your dad, specifically, may not have much musical talent, several Lake Highlands parents have established successful bands.  Take the Catdaddies, whose first gig was a Lake Highlands Elementary talent show 20 years ago, for instance.

We profiled the Catdaddies, along with Epic Unplugged and Justin Phillip Brooks, in October 2018. You can read the story here.

The Catdaddies are slated to perform at the Lake House Bar & Grill’s sixth anniversary party Saturday, March 30, at 3:30 p.m. Justin Phillip Brooks’ next gig is a private event, but keep an eye out for the trio’s next show here.

Epic Unplugged, whose members also perform in the Old 97s and Graceland Ninjaz, is celebrating its one-year anniversary Friday, April 5, at 9 p.m. Head to Plano’s Legacy Hall Box Garden for the free show. The cover band also has shows booked at festivals in Louisiana, Arkansas and Florida.
