Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a play about being dumped

Lake Highlands graduate Max Hartman takes the stage in Kitchen Dog Theater’s production of “You Got Older.”  The play, written by Clare Barron, revolves around a woman who moves home after being dumped and fired from her job. See this dark comedy Valentine’s Day at the Trinity River Arts Center, 2600 N. Stemmons Freeway, at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $20-$30.

Lace up your running shoes — if you’re in to that kind of thing — and enjoy up to 13.1 miles around White Rock Lake. The Too Cold to Hold Half/10k/5k features free beer, live music and plenty of post-race swag. The race is slated Saturday, Feb. 16, at Norbuck Park. Get all the details here.

Head to the Dallas Arboretum for Pastry 101 Sunday, Feb. 17. Chef Lorie Fangio guides attendees as they learn to make tarts, eclairs and other French pastries. The event costs $60-$65.
