Fundraisers galore: create a cardboard arcade, buy a beer and help your neighbors this weekend

Put away the video games and take your children to Richardson Gifted’s Cardboard Challenge. The fundraiser — slated Saturday, Jan. 26, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at 701 W. Beltline Road — allow students to create games with cardboard, tape and small toys.

The government shut down halted Lake Highlands’ Veronica and Craig Bradley from opening Vector Brewing at Lakeridge Village. Lakewood Brewing Company is hosting Brewing Good Sunday on Jan. 27. Vector Brewing will be given $1 from every pint served.

If you dare, join this paranormal investigation class and explore White Rock Lake — the sites of several murders and body dumps. Don’t forget to keep your eyes peeled for one of Dallas’ most well-known ghosts, the Lady of White Rock Lake. The event is Sunday, Jan. 27, and costs $40.
