Deborah Bankhead (right) receives the TVAS Attorney Volunteer Award

Lake Highlands High 2008 grad Deborah Bankhead received the Attorney Volunteer Award Wednesday from the Tarrant County Bar Foundation. They honored Deborah for her outstanding and tireless pro bono work in Tarrant County Volunteer Attorney Services (TVAS) clinics.

Deborah, a graduate of Texas A&M University law school, is an associate attorney in criminal defense and family law at Varghese Summersett. She works there alongside her father, Steve, on divorces, custody disputes and child support issues.

Deborah now lives in Fort Worth, where she also volunteers her time with the Junior League, the Young Women’s Leadership Academy, Christmas in Cowtown and the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. She was recently elected to the board of the Teen Court of Fort Worth, where she mentors high school students hoping to practice law.
