A man was injured after he was shot Wednesday evening at a DART station in Lake Highlands.

The shooting’s catalyst was an argument between two men — in their 40s and 60s, respectively —  riding the northbound Orange Line train, the Dallas Morning News reported.

The men were feuding while traveling to the LBJ/Central Station. As the younger man exited the train, he was shot in the chest, leg and shoulder.

Marcos Pelaez, 24, told the Morning News he heard about eight gunshots. “I see the shooter with his gun out pointing at the victim and the victim stumbles backward and falls over,” Pelaez said. “The guy is yelling at him telling him, ‘I told you to stay away, I told you to stay away.'”

The injured man was taken to Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas, and his condition is unknown.

The shooter was arrested, although he was later released.  His identity also is unknown, and the case is being referred to a grand jury.
