Preston Hollow coffee scene is about to get White Rocked

You may have been one of the Lake Highlands neighbors who was flabbergasted when Starbucks opened barely a block from our beloved local java shop, White Rock Coffee.

The corporate coffee giant hasn’t slowed owners Nancy and Robert Baker, who purchased the adjacent space, formerly a Jack in the Box/Cash Loan, to train its baristas. Now White Rock Coffee is opening its fourth location at 5930 Royal Lane in the former Subway space.

“We are very excited about the new location,” Nancy told CultureMap. “We sell our coffee beans at the Central Market store at Preston-Royal and that has received has so much interest, that we decided a local coffeehouse was the next step.”

The location is slated to launch late this summer.
