Lake Highlands High School’s theatre department is hosting The Illumination Light Show & Theatre Showcase Tuesday at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $5. (If you’re not sure what the light show is, watch the 2016 production here.)

Thanks to Lake Highlands Restaurant Week, you can put away the pots, pans and ever-growing grocery list. Twenty percent of the profits from a dozen neighborhood restaurants will benefit Feed Lake Highlands, Forerunner Mentoring, Healing Hands Ministries and Pamper Lake Highlands through Sunday.

Dallas Arboretum Artscape features painting, sculpture, mixed media, photography and more  throughout the weekend. The fine art and craft show is free to attend, minus the cost of general admission.

Lace up your running shoes for the Run the Highlands 10k, 5k and trail walk. The race starts at 8:30 a.m. Saturday. Register for the event here.

Donate lightly used items to Lake Highlands United Methodist Church for its annual garage sale. The event, which launched nearly 25 years ago, is slated from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.

White Rock Lake will soon be filled with the sounds of local musicians performing at Lake-a-Palooza Saturday from 1-8 p.m. See the complete lineup here.
