Hang out with dogs, trucks and zookeepers this weekend

Audelia Road Library Friends is hosting a very special event for kids of all ages. They can come touch and explore squad cars, fire trucks, garbage trucks and more.

If you’ve ever struggled with how to best help the homeless in our neighborhood and around Dallas, COPE may be able to help you get a better idea of the everyday issues facing the homeless in our city. Cost of Poverty Experience, hosted by Lake Highlands UMC allows participants to immerse themselves in the lives of the impoverished for an evening.

Stop by Rooster Home and Hardware to play with pups from White Rock Dog Rescue. The dogs are in need of not only love, but also families willing to welcome them into their home.

Take advantage of the flora and fauna when Dallas Zoo comes to visit the Dallas Arboretum. A zookeeper will be telling stories of what it’s like on the job and tell kids how they can become a zookeeper too.

Maybe you want to hang out with some adorable, adoptable dogs but feel intimidated by hardware stores…well, friends fear not. There will be rescue dogs for adoption or companionship at the Jewish Community Center’s dog yoga.
