Former Richardson ISD employee Mel Fuller was arrested Tuesday on charges of possessing child pornography. He was arrested by Trophy Club police and booked into the Denton County Jail.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Fuller was employed by RISD as Executive Director of RISD’s College and Career Readiness program from August of 2012 to June of 2016. He is currently on staff at ACT, the company which provides college entrance exams.  Fuller was also a sitting school board member in the Northwest ISD, where he lives, until his arrest. Fuller was first elected there in 2008. He has resigned.

NBC 5 reports that a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children led to the investigation. Officers interviewed Fuller on August 31 and seized electronic devices from his home.

The Northwest school board will discuss options to fill his seat.
