If you want to know how many hot dogs a middle-schooler can scarf down in 20 minutes, the answer is nine. At least that was the case at Lake Highlands Junior High, where a hot dog eating contest was won by student Milo Potter with nine dogs, while Re lo Taw was close behind with eight.

It all took place at Shady’s Burgers & Brewhaha, which not only donated the delicious dogs, it also gave back a portion of proceeds all day last weekend, raising $336.48 for the school. Organized by Michele Davis and Carolyn Potter, the day included a performance by high school band On The Alley while the LHJH cheerleaders counted the number of dogs contestants consumed. Students Trace Cabiness, Wyatt Toombs, Jarvis Saine, Will Hutton, Jamal Saine, Aaron Jamison Johnson, Jackson Giddens, Crawford Weale, Nay Htoo and Alex Blaine also took part in the competition.
