On Thursday, the Lake House Bar and Grill offers a Dog Costume and Yappy Hour event that highlights our four-legged friends. From 5:30 to 9 p.m. attendees can show off their pooches Halloween looks during the event sponsored by Lakewood Brewing Co. For every can of Lakewood’s All Car beer bought, $3 will be donated to the rescue group Paws in the City.Â
It’s homecoming week at Lake Highlands High School and the week is packed with events from the pep rally and big game on Saturday to the Varsity Revue on Thursday and Saturday. Get all the details in our post here.Â
C. C. Young will host a writing workshop with C.J. Critt this Thursday from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. Critt will guide participants through the creation of their own Edgar Allen Poe ghost story. The event is free but space is limited. RSVP by calling 214-841-2831.
The Dallas Arboretum will be hosting its new Pumpkin Carver Weekend this Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.to 4 p.m. Master pumpkin carver Gene Granata will be carving pumpkins for all ages with live demonstrations.
