Forerunners work after school with a mentor

The Wildcats play another Thursday night game this week, and to kick off the fun, Forerunner Mentoring will sponsor a community-wide tailgate party before the game. Forerunner will provide hot dogs, bounce houses and face painting at the Lake Highlands North Pavilion across from Wildcat Stadium, and they even have a few tickets to the big game against Skyline for those who’d like to attend.

“We aren’t selling anything,” says Forerunner founder and executive director Zach Garza. “We aren’t asking for anything. We just want the community to come out, get to know each other and have fun.”

Forerunner’s mission is to “help fatherless young men become positive and productive men who have the opportunity to be Godly husbands, fathers and leaders in their communities.”

The tailgate party runs from 5 to 7 p.m., and the game kicks off at 7. If you’d like to donate your unused tickets to Forerunner’s students or tailgate attendees, or if you’d like to contribute to Forerunner, email Garza at Zach@forerunnermentoring.com. Go Cats!
