“Do something for someone every day!”

The Selzer & Stell Real Estate group believes in Ebby Halliday’s motto and strives to implement it every day. The group, comprised of Lake Highlands Realtors Elizabeth and Doug Selzer and Jan Stell, recently toured Robert E. Lee Elementary. The 5th grade students had hatched chicks, and they were residing in the classroom in a cardboard box. The students realized that these chicks had nowhere to live once they grew.

Coincidentally, Moss Haven Farm was about to host its 8th annual Peep at the Coops Tour. The raffle prize this year was a new chicken coop. The Selzer & Stell Group decided to spearhead a campaign to win the coop for Robert E. Lee and help its outdoor environmental learning program grow. Thanks to these Realtors’ efforts, many tickets were purchased for the cause. Ironically, the ticket purchased by Lake Highlands Realtor Elizabeth Selzer was the winning raffle ticket; now those little chicks have their own new home!

With giving in mind and more than 50 years of combined experience, the Selzer & Stell Group has worked on behalf of hundreds of homeowners and buyers in Lake Highlands. Each Realtor has seen a lot and will give it their all to get a home sold at top dollar. Jan Stell still remembers an “L Street” home that needed some TLC, so she proceeded to paint, wallpaper and decorate the property which she then listed — all the time with her baby in a nearby play pen. Doug Selzer has been caught washing windows in a suit and Elizabeth Selzer even resodded a yard.

On personal notes, Doug Selzer is on the Local School Council of Lake Highlands High School and has volunteered as a mentor at Moss Haven Elementary and Forest Meadow Junior High. He devotes his time teaching classes to other Ebby Realtors to give back to the industry.

Jan Stell was on the board for the Lake Highlands YMCA for 10 years; she was responsible for helping locate the land and raise funds to construct the building, gym and pool — one of the crown jewels of Lake Highlands.

Elizabeth Selzer is a past PTA president at Moss Haven and volunteers for many other community organizations. Individually and collectively, Lake Highlands’ Selzer & Stell Group has a caring heart for Lake Highlands. All of their children were raised in the neighborhood and attended its great schools.

Their expertise begins in Lake Highlands but spreads throughout the Dallas community. The Group has been honored as a Top-Producing Group at Ebby and includes two of the Advocate’s “Top 25 Real Estate agents in Lake Highlands.” They are certified GREEN, Historic Home Specialist, Pricing Strategy Advisor, as well as Senior Real Estate Specialists (SRES) helping clients relocate to senior facilities. They understand that home buying and selling isn’t just business, but personal to the wallet as well as the heart.

You can count on this caring, knowledgeable and experienced group to be there for you and your real estate needs. In short, the Selzer & Stell Group does something for others every day.
