Help hurricane victims by dropping items at your nearest RISD school

RISD schools will collect items for Hurricane Harvey victims this week

If you’re interested in providing assistance to victims of Hurricane Harvey, which flooded 50 counties in South Texas, Richardson ISD schools invite you to join in their effort.

Today through Thursday, participating schools will be accepting donations of new underwear, socks, sweatpants and sweatshirts for men, women, children and infants. They will also collect toiletries, hygiene products, baby formula, baby wipes and Pack ‘n Play portable playpens. No monetary donations will be accepted, and deliveries are requested between 8:15 and 2:30 to avoid the hectic arrival and dismissal times at LH-area elementary schools.

On Friday, volunteers will deliver the donations to Lake Highlands High School, where they’ll be loaded up and taken to the Red Cross.
