Three RISD forums will allow citizens to get to know their school board candidates before the May 6 election

With the May 6 Richardson ISD school board election approaching, several local groups are planning candidate forums to help citizens make selections in the 2 of 3 races which are contested.

On Tuesday, March 21st, the Richardson Republican Women’s Club will host a forum at J.J. Pearce High School, 1600 N. Coit. Richardson City Council candidates answer questions at 6:30 p.m., and RISD hopefuls go on at 7:35.

On April 6th at Lake Highlands United Methodist Church, Dallas City Councilman Adam McGough will moderate a forum organized by Lake Highlands residents. The event is being promoted by HOAs, neighborhood associations and local PTAs, and the start time is 7 p.m. LHUMC is at 9015 Plano Road. Residents may submit questions here.

On April 12th at 7 p.m., the Richardson League of Women Voters and the RISD Council of PTAs will combine to present the candidates, and the public is invited to submit questions by email to voterservice@lwvrichardson.org. The forum will be held in the auditorium of the RISD Administration Building, 400 S. Greenville Avenue.

The Lake Highlands Chamber of Commerce will host a candidate Q&A at their regular third Thursday meeting April 20th at 7 a.m. at Diversicare of Lake Highlands Heathcare and Rehabilitation Clinic, 9009 White Rock Trail. The public is invited.

The candidates are: Place 3 – Joseph Armstrong, Karen Clardy, Eric Eager and Ben Prado.

Place 7 – Lynn Davenport and Dr. Kristin Kuhne

Place 6 (unopposed) Justin Bono.
