Pamper LH client Norma thanks Caren Bright, Gabi Buehring, Beth Arnold and Crispin Denault

To kick off its second year, 100 Women of Lake Highlands selected Pamper Lake Highlands to receive the donations of its members. Despite 100 Women’s name, the organization is 335 members strong, so the bundle of $100 checks totaled $33,500.
Pamper LH founder Caren Bright received the funds at one of her ESL (English as a Second Language) classes while clients looked on.
“This is the answer to many prayers,” said Bright. “We now have 335 more women and families who are believing in this ministry, and we will continue to try to make you proud.”
Women enrolled in classes stood in line to thank donors.
“We learn English,” said Angie, a client who gushed her gratitude, “but we also receive a lot of love from the people working here. All the teachers here are amazing, they are the best. We are growing, but our whole families are growing, too. We can get better jobs, better opportunities in our lives. We are very grateful. God bless you. We are excited to stay in this program. Thank you for your help.”
Pamper Lake Highlands began in 2014 as a simple program to provide diapers to needy young mothers, but it has expanded to include a variety of services, including parenting classes, bible studies, financial training, medical needs and a host of other services.
Last September, Pamper LH was under consideration to receive funds from 100 Women, but instead lead the charge to convince fellow non-profits to drop out of the running to give Snuggle Julian, the fundraiser for Julian Kampfschulte, a better shot at being chosen. Snuggle Julian was selected, and though Julian later succumbed to the disease, his parents continue their fight for screening of newborns for ALD.
Since it was founded in March of 2016, 100 Women has also given to Forerunner Mentoring, and they raised money for Thanksgiving meals for students at Thurgood Marshall and Skyview Elementary.
Congratulations to Pamper LH and to 100 Women!
