‘Mary Poppins’
The Lake Highlands High School Fine Arts Department presents “Mary Poppins” at 7 p.m. on Jan. 26-28 and 2 p.m. on Jan. 29. The production also serves as a fundraiser for Promise House, which assists teenagers who are homeless or at-risk.

Oscar celebration
Celebrate the best movies of the year with plenty of wine at A Night at the Oscars: Films, Wine & Winners. Hosted by journalist Gary Cogill and Hayley Hamilton Cogill, the event from 6:30-8:30 p.m. matches each Oscar-nominated movie with a different type of wine.

Too Cold to Hold Half/10k/5k
Bundle up for the Too Cold to Hold race held this Sunday morning at 8 a.m. Although it will be cold, there will be sights to see. The race’s course is set to run the west side of the lake and past the Dallas Arboretum. A unique event t-shirt will be given to all 5k runners, and all race finishers will receive a finisher medal.

‘War Flower’
The Danielle Georgiou Dance Group is presenting a new work every night at 8 p.m. It differs from their previous seasons seeing as it examines the cyclic and savage laws of time, nature and ritual. This is a thought provoking performance that all people can relate too.
