Last Friday, the Lake Highlands girls volleyball team had a tough match and ended up losing to a still undefeated Oak Ridge War Eagles. The team fought hard and played well all year, making it into the state play-offs. As the season comes to a close, we must credit the hard work and determination of these girls. The Lady Cats finished 27-11, an impressive record.

But for some senior players, their days on the court are just beginning. This morning, two players signed their letter of intent to play college volleyball at their respective schools. After being recruited and visiting these schools, these students were ready to make their decision official, by committing to a four-year contract to play ball and further their education.

Haley Harman, an outside hitter and captain for the Wildcats, signed her letter this morning to the Texas Tech University. This future Red Raider came back and excelled her senior year after suffering from two torn ACLs in her playing career.

Grayce Bateman, a middle hitter, pledged to Southeastern Louisiana University this morning. She has been a four-year varsity player and is a force in the middle of the court.  This future Lion has plenty to bring to the next level.
