Are you a fierce competition, and it pie your medium of choice? Then Good Local Market  near White Rock Lake has the event for you this Saturday. The weekly farmers market at Lakeside Baptist Church, 9150 Garland Road, is hosting the eighth annual Pie Contest, where bakers compete in fruit and cream fillings. Dallas Police are reaching out to the community with Saturday’s Northeast Division Health and Safety Fair, set for 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday at Conrad High School, 7502 Fair Oaks Ave. You can expect helicopter tours, demonstrations a chance to meet a police dog and get to know the men and women who patrol our neighborhood. During Autumn Trade Days at the Dallas Arboretum, local crafters are stationed throughout the majestic gardens to sell their unique wares. Does your child dream of attending Booker T. Washington’s prestigious program? Get help with the auditions during a series of workshops lead by Booker T. teachers at the Lochwood Library branch. The free series begins this Saturday from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. with a focus on the visual arts.
