Lake Highlands United Methodist Church has its annual Trunk or Treat and Chili Cook Off this Sunday from 5-7 p.m. While the little ones collect candy from fancifully decorated trunks while parents enjoy chili cooked up fresh by neighbors. There’s no charge to attend, just come down in costume and enjoy.

The Moss Haven Madness Carnival returns this Saturday from 4-7 p.m. During the event, the elementary school will host games, a haunted house, a cake walk and rides like a bounce house and a bungee jumper. Wristbands are $25 and available here.

Every night this weekend from 6 to 9 p.m, the Dallas Arboretum is hosting a trick or treating in the Children’s Garden.  Throw on your best costume and come join for a light guided tour of the garden as wells as some sweets. Tickets are $10 and available here, just pick your date. It’s all part of the Autumn at the Arboretum, which celebrates the season with an impressive display of pumpkins and a slew of holiday events.

All weekend long, you can stop by Forest Meadow Junior High for the 33rd annual Market in the Meadow.  There will be over 160 vendors on site with a unique array of products, along with performances by local high school and junior high singers, dancers, and drill teams. See everything that’s new in our spotlight from last week. Tickets and parking are free at this fundraising event. 

Love homes and interior design? This weekend, Oct. 29 and 30, two Lake Highlands homes will be on the AIA Dallas Tour of Homes, an annual showcase of architecture that spans the entire city.  The tour will guide you through some of the most beautiful and advance houses across the city, and is self-directed based on what you want to see. Get $25 advanced tickets here, along with all the other event details. 

If you’ve always wanted to participate in a flash mob, here’s your chance. Join the Dance Council of North Texas in a flash mob of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” at NorthPark Center on Saturday. Thriller in the Park kicks off at 1 p.m. at the NorthCourt. You can get all the details here, and learn the choreography in the video featured below.
