The students were selected by campus principals and athletic coordinators, who chose 4 student-athletes from each RISD high school. They will meet once per month.

“Our first meeting took place on Sept. 28th and was a huge success,” says RISD Athletic Director Leslie Slovak. “This interaction with our kids offers a great opportunity to get feedback on how we can improve our athletic programs and meet the individual needs of our student-athletes. We will also provide several opportunities for these student-athletes to meet our junior high and elementary kids, do community service projects and take field trips that will inspire and help them grow as leaders. These student-athletes help set the agenda for each meeting. They have already identified topics like stress and anxiety in high school, sportsmanship, alcohol and drugs, and team chemistry.”

Congratulations Sarah, Danielle, Dajuan and Saul.
