We reported earlier this week that Subi, a graduate of Skyline High School in Dallas, was clinging to life after a shootout occurred just after 2 a.m. Monday as people were leaving an event at the Azure Banquet Hall near Lake Highlands.

Police told TV reporters a fight broke out, gunfire erupted, and the young woman was sitting in her car when a stray bullet struck her in the head.

A service last night honored the young woman’s life, according to Skyline Alumni Facebook page:

“What a testimonial to life the vigil was last night. Cassandra Subi was described as a great friend to others, a strong and smart student, and a gregarious young lady,” the post read. “She was full of life until the tragic event last week. May she rest sweetly in peace.”

Police say she died late Wednesday. They are looking for anyone who can offer any information leading to the shooters.
