The 12 Days of Christmas exhibit at the Dallas Arboretum will feature elaborately decorated gazebos, costumed characters and classic Christmas tunes. Pro tip: Go at night to see the glowing lights. The exhibit will be open from 6-9 p.m., in addition to normal arboretum hours.
Thru Dec. 23
Visit the Dallas Children’s Theatre for the hit holiday special, “A Charlie Brown Christmas.” Showtimes are 1:30, 4:30 and 7:30 p.m., with a sensory friendly showcase set for Dec. 2 and a show for deaf audiences on Dec. 3.
Thru Dec. 21
Kathy Burks and the Dallas Children’s Theatre partner to present “Frosty and Friends,” the Christmas special. Present entirely in puppetry, the show offers a new way to see this beloved story.
Thru Jan. 8
Christmas hits NorthPark Center with villages of trains and gingerbread, holiday singers and a cranky yet hilarious Scrooge puppet throwing insults. See all the merriment all season long. .
Nov. 24-Dec. 30
Enjoy decadent chocolates and tasty wine as you tour the Dallas area Christmas lights with Dallas By Chocolate. Weekday tours will be from 6:30-10 p.m. while weekend tours will be from 5:30-9 p.m.
Nov. 26
Join the Lake Highlands Junior Women’s League at 6 p.m. as they Light Up the Highlands. The annual tree lighting ceremony will take place at the Lake Highlands North Recreation Center and will also include free food, entertainment from local performers and, of course, guest appearance by Santa.
Thru December
A dozen houses will once again mark 12 days of Christmas this year in Timberhollow Circle. This Lake Highlands neighborhood tradition is more than two decades old and will feature all the favorites from the well-known Christmas carol. The display can be found in the Oak Highlands Estates located one block south of Royal Lane off Abrams Road on Moss Haven Drive.
Dec 1.
The Holiday in the Highlands home tour will be held by the Lake Highlands Women’s League on Friday, Dec. 1 from 9:30 a.m-8 p.m. Don’t forgot the signature luncheon, where the husbands fill in as servers. The annual event has raised more than $2 million for scholarships and area nonprofits.
Dec. 1-Dec. 30
Why go Christmas sight-seeing in a car when you can fly? Sky Helicopters is offering holiday light tours beginning on Dec. 1. Tours will take place Monday through Saturday from 6-9 p.m.
Dec. 10
Journey Through Bethlehem at Lake Highlands Presbyterian Church begins at 6 p.m. This immersive experience recreates the night Jesus was born, complete with a marketplace and choir.
Dec. 17
Ascension Episcopal Church helps bring the Christmas story to life with their annual live Nativity scene reenactment. There will be performances at both 5 and 6 p.m. at AEC along with a petting zoo.
