Saturday — It’s the annual October Dallas Running Club Loop 15k. The name says it — entrants run a loop around White Rock Lake. If you aren’t up for the entire circumference, a 5k course also is offered. It’s free for members and just $10 for everyone else. Register online here, or race morning between 6:30-7:30 a.m. The race starts at 8 a.m. on the trail in front of Winfrey Point.

Saturday — The Old 97s headline Oktoberfest. This German-themed fall festival features craft beer, food trucks and live music for adults, plus a kid zone with bounce houses, face painting and zip lining for their little bundles of energy. The grounds open at 11 a.m. and they take the stage at 7 p.m. Oktoberfest takes place at 7100 Wildcat Way. Cost is $5 before 6 p.m., $10 after 6 p.m., and kids under 3 are free.
